What the extension does
Currency Lens detects currency-marked prices in website text and adds approximate conversions in your selected currency. New installations start with conversion off. You can enable conversion after reading the disclosure in the extension popup.
Information processed on your device
When conversion is enabled, the extension examines website text in supported pages and frames to detect prices. Website text can include personal information depending on the page you visit. Processing is limited to finding prices and displaying conversions. Page text, detected prices, and page URLs are not sent to Socialbug Apps LLC or to the rate provider, and the extension does not persist them in extension storage. Temporary references to page content remain in the page context while it is open.
The extension skips form controls and editable regions. It does not access passwords, authentication cookies, browser history records, or payment credentials through browser APIs. It does not create advertising profiles or record clicks or keystrokes.
Local storage and retention
Chrome local extension storage holds your target and source currency choices, whether conversion is enabled, and a cached exchange-rate table with dates and retrieval time. Settings remain until changed or removed. A successful refresh replaces the cached table; failed requests may leave the existing table available for offline use. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage. Settings are not synchronized using Chrome Sync.
Exchange-rate requests and third parties
The extension requests an EUR-based exchange-rate table from Frankfurter over HTTPS, normally on installation or browser startup, when rates are needed, hourly, and when you click Refresh rates. Requests can occur while price conversion is off. The request does not contain website URLs, website text, detected prices, your selected currencies, or a user identifier added by the extension. Cookies and credentials are omitted.
Frankfurter and the network infrastructure serving it receive the connection metadata needed to answer requests, such as IP address and standard HTTP request information. Their handling of that metadata is governed by their own practices. Socialbug Apps LLC does not receive the rate requests. See Frankfurter’s website for its current privacy information.
Use and sharing
The extension uses locally processed information only to provide price conversion and retain your settings. It contains no advertising or analytics services, sells no user data, and does not transmit page content to third parties. Currency Lens’s use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your controls
Turn off “Convert website prices” to stop price detection and remove conversion annotations from connected tabs. Use Save settings to apply currency choices. You may also restrict website access through Chrome’s extension settings, or uninstall the extension to stop its operation and remove local extension storage.

We will update this policy when practices change. Material changes to data handling will also be disclosed in the product before the changed processing starts.
